Svitolina recognized for war relief efforts from Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy with special plaque

Elina Svitolina received a special commemorative plaque from Ukranian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy for the War relief efforts in the past year.

Svitolina has been a vocal advocate for her country Ukraine as it wages war against Russia following the latter's invasion of its sovereign territory. She's been involved in charity gala's, auctioned off personal items as well as returning back to Ukraine recently to take part in a charity run in her hometown of Odessa.

All of that was done at a time when she was expecting her first child which is remarkable. She received the award in Kyiv and marked the occasion with a photo on social media:

Together towards victory - Разом до перемоги 🙏🏼🇺🇦✊🏼,"

Svitolina recently called up Wimbledon to upholdthe ban on Russian and Belarussian players as well as calling on the Olympics to ban them as well.
