With the WTA draw of
Wimbledon out we know now who might play in the quarterfinals against each other and there are some good ones.
Obviously, this all hinges on whether these players play well enough to win all those matches and get to the quarterfinals but according to seeding these are the ones that we should get.
Iga Swiatek is widely expected to make it to this stage and she might face
Jessica Pegula there. They played at Roland Garros a couple of weeks ago and Swiatek won that easily.
The 2nd one is between Danielle Collins and
Ons Jabeur. The Tunisian player was in the quarterfinal last year and she's been in superb form this year elevating her game even further. She might face Danielle Collins there who already played a grand slam final this year. Since then she's not been playing the same due to some injuries but grass could be a nice change for her. If she's healthy.
The 3rd one is a hard-hitting one with
Paula Badosa and Karolina Pliskova. The Czech player reached the final last year taking on Ashleigh Barty but that was too much to overcome. Badosa hasn't played much on grass but there is no reason she can't do well on the surface and she would certainly enjoy a deep run.
The final one is between
Maria Sakkari and
Anett Kontaveit. Two players that arrived at this event with a mixed bag of results in the year but both highly motivated. We'll see what either can do.
