Kazakhstan’s tennis star Elena Rybakina has stated that she is happy with her overall performance in the 2024 season.
The 24-year-old is already regarded as one of the most highly-rated players currently playing women’s tennis in the singles category, along with Poland’s Iga Swiatek and Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka.
Rybakina recently participated in the French Open 2024, but her journey ended on a surprising note. She lost in the quarterfinal to Italy’s Jasmine Paolini with a score of 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.
Rybakina was recently quoted in a report published by Tennis World USA, in which she stated that she is satisfied with her performances in the 2024 season.
“Well, I'm not going to go deep in this topic for sure,” she said. “But l've been working a lot, and I think there is a lot of, as I say, ups and downs. It's always different, but as I always say, also, the schedule is not easy," Rybakina said.
"At the end of the day everybody is trying to manage as best as possible. I think l've played a lot. As I said, if the body is on the limit, I can't go on the court. If I'm not 100% ready, then it's a risk to even get bigger injuries or something.
"For now it's been health with allergies, sleeping, so it's a little bit different from maybe last year when I had back problems. I heal. It's always ups and downs. It's tennis, so we’re just trying to find the best possible way for me to prepare and be ready for big events like Grand Slams and 1000 events.”
“I'm really happy with the results. I mean, I played so many matches. Also, good wins against top players. Of course, it's a lot of ups and downs from my side, missing some events. Of course, I would like to play everything, but if the body is on the limit, I cannot do anything. For now I'm pretty happy, and if I can continue like this until the end of the year it's going to be not bad for sure.”

Elena Rybakina recently suffered a quarterfinal exit from the French Open.
Rybakina is having a more than decent time on the court in 2024. She disappointingly started her journey after crashing out of the Australian Open following a defeat in the second round to Anna Blinkova with a score of 6-4, 4-6, 7-6.
The Moscow-born star then managed to turn her form around and managed to play in four WTA finals. She won the Abu Dhabi Open after beating Daria Kasatkina with a score of 6-1, 6-4.
She then played in the final of the Qatar Open, where she lost to Swiatek in straight sets, 7-6, 6-2.
Rybakina then suffered another defeat in the final of a WTA event, coming second-best against America’s Danielle Collins with a score of 7-5, 6-3. The current world number four last played in the final of the Stuttgart Open, where she lifted the title after beating Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk in straight sets with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
