Following the release of the 2024 WTA calendar, tennis fans were not pleased as the schedule appears to be oversaturated with not just Grand Slams and WTA events, but also the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The 2024 WTA schedule will be crammed with several events, ranging from the Australian Open taking place in mid-January, till the Olympic Games in August. The Olympic Games women's singles final is scheduled for August 3, followed by the Canadian Open from August 6 to 12. The Cincinnati Open is set to begin the following day, from August 13 to 19. The US Open will be held just a week later, from August 26 to September 8.

Fans express disappointment at poor organization of WTA events

Several tennis fans took to Twitter to vent upon the release of the 2024 calendar, with many not pleased at the quick turnaround after each tournament. Some expressed their concern for the players, stating they would be completely drained and exhausted.
"This is literally insane the players are going to be GASSED. Factor in 4 slams, Olympics, 500s, BJK Cup and WTA Finals and that’s just… too much,” said one concerned fan.
"There is literally no time for the girls to rush from Paris to Toronto bffr they have Olympics my goodness," commented another fan.
"They've scheduled a 500 and 1000 event during the Olympics lmao," another fan said.
"The schedule is so packed wtf," said another fan.
