Aryna Sbalenka will play at the
WTA Finals despite having a very tough year which she mentioned in her pre-event conference in Forth Worth.
The WTA Finals this year will be held in Forth Worth and
Aryna Sabalenka will once again be present. It's not something she experienced earlier in the year with very poor results and serving issues that saw her commit up to 20 double faults per match.
She went as far as to describe it as a miracle:
"I feel super happy to be here, especially after such a challenging
year. I feel like it's a miracle for me to be here, and I'm just
enjoying every second."
She added:
"Being in the Top 10 even with such a tough year, this is something
incredible. I'm really proud of myself, how I handled all of these
challenges. I'm proud of my team that they were there and they just
support me."
Her first match will come against Ons Jabeur who has had an amazing year but a lot of heartbreak as well:
"It definitely is going to be tough match, and she's really playing well this season. But, you know, I worked a lot on my slice game so probably I can surprise her. She will be, like, 'Oh, my God, she started slicing, I'm done for this match.' This is my plan. If it works, it's good. If not, I will try something else."
