Naomi Osaka and Victoria Azarenka are both close to winning their 3rd Grand Slam title at the 2020 US Open as they're set for the final.
Both players are showing absolutely stunning form at the moment, however, their stories are completely different. While Naomi Osaka is considered to be the future of women's tennis and continues to show her qualities every year,
Victoria Azarenka returned to her best form after giving birth to her son Leo. Both players are only one step away from winning the 2020
US Open and their third Grand Slam title.
The 31-years-old Belorusian enjoyed the best form of her life back in 2012 and 2013. When it already seemed that she won't be able to return to her best tennis,
she triumphed at the 2020 Western & Southern Open and continued in the same style also at the US Open.
After defeating Haas, Sabalenka, and Swiatek without losing a set in the first three rounds, Azarenka lost a set to Muchova in the fourth and to
Serena Williams in the semifinals. However, she kept showing her best tennis what led her to do the final of the 2020 US Open.
Naomi Osaka was also having a very good run at the 2020 Western & Southern Open. In fact, it was the young Japanese that was supposed to face Victoria Azarenka in the final before
she withdrew due to an injury. However, the injury didn't stop her from competing at the 2020 US Open as she kept showing her best tennis.
On her way to the final, she lost a set to Doi in the first round, Kostyuk in the third, and Jennifer Brady in the semifinals. However, she didn't lose a set to Kontaveit in the fourth round and she also defeated Shelby Rogers without losing a set.
Both players are showing that they are in a very good form, and it won't be only the quality of tennis that will decide the final match. Osaka also knows that, when she said: "Honestly, I feel like the older you get, the more mentally strong you are."
