Emma Raducanu idolized two tennis players growing up and one of them was Simona Halep with whom she practiced recently.
Raducanu's father hails from Romania and Halep has been Romania's best tennis player in recent memory. The young Brit grew up idolizing and watching Halep and in Washington, she finally got the chance to share a court with her. Halep and Raducanu never played in an official match but they were spotted working together ahead of the Citi Open in Washington.
The practice was a fierce one as both are huge competitors but it was all in good spirit with lots of smiles as well. The Brit was observed by new coach Dmitry Tursunov who already linked up with her ahead of this event and it will be interesting to see how well she does.
