Bianca
Andreescu's coach, Christophe Lambert, danced to relieve stress before her
match against
Maria Sakkari at the Miami Open.
Former
Miami Open finalist is showing convincing play to continue advancing in the
tournament. The Canadian has already defeated Emma Raducanu in the first round
and the seventh seed, Maria Sakkari, in the second round. Prior to her match
against the Greek player, her coach Christopher Lambert was seen dancing to the
beat of "Mr. Bombastic," a globally recognized song by rapper Shaggy.
WTA's
Twitter account shared the funny moment and
Bianca Andreescu reposted the video
of the moment:
In a tough
match lasting nearly three hours, the Canadian had to bring out her best
repertoire to defeat Sakkari:
"I
felt like I was on my heels a lot of the time during the match, but I made
every ball," said Andreescu. "I fought to the end, and I think I
played the important points just a little bit better today. But, yeah,
it could have gone either way today."
"I
think it's just another step in gaining most of my confidence back. I'm feeling
really good on the court. I'm trying to be as fearless as I can be," addedd.
"It's not always easy, but I feel like I'm getting there."
Andreescu
achieved an important victory against the world No. 10, which will allow her to
return to the top 30 after 16 months and will surely motivate her to continue
climbing positions. Her next match will be against former Australian Open
champion, Sofia Kenin.
