Victoria Azarenka prevailed 6-4, 7-6 in her opener at the 2023 Australian Open and is the only former women's champion left in the draw after defeating another in Sofia Kenin.
An interesting fact is Azarenka's love for PSG despite of course being Belarusian and living in Florida for many years, Azarenka wore a PSG training top to her post match press conference and was asked about supporting them.
She said about how as well her son, Leo has adopted her love for football and wants to play for PSG which has brought the 'soccer mom' out of Vika when he is playing.
"Everybody asks me this question why are you wearing PSG and nobody understands that I've been supporting them since 2012. Since Beckham was signed to the club,
"I've been a fan for a long time and been to many games. My son Leo is extremely into football now, I call it football, he calls it soccer. We have this debate.
"He wants to play for PSG, that's his dream. So he saw me wearing this shirt and he will wear the same thing. I'm a soccer mom now and I love that, I'm obnoxious.
"I yell but I'm very positive, I'm very proud because it's a completely different emotion for me to support my son. I have no shame of screaming for him but I'm very supportive, I want him to achieve his dreams."
