VIDEO: "I'm looking forward to competing again" - Raducanu confirms Guadalajara participation

Emma Raducanu will play at the Abierto Akron Zapopan tennis event in Guadalajara from February 21st till February 27th.

Raducanu has not played since the Australian Open and elected not to participate in the Persian Gulf tennis event going on at the moment. Raducanu missed Dubai this week and will miss Doha next week before returning to tennis in the week of February 21st. The event she will play that week is in Guadalajara with the WTA 250 Abierto Akron Zapopan.

The British player confirmed her participation in a short video posted by the official Twitter profile of the event. Raducanu said:

"Hey everyone. I just want to say that I'm looking forward to coming out there and playing in the Abierto Akron Zapopan tournament. I'm looking forward to competing again and seeing Mexico for the first time."

Raducanu finished off her video by saying 'I'll see you soon'. It will be her first time on the tennis court since the Australian Open and the stretch down under. She did not play too well down there but was also coming off of a COVID-19 positive test which impacted her preparation.
