Aryna Sabalenka wasn't even sure if she was going to step on court on Wednesday after sustaining an injury against Elina Svitolina. But she did and she was rewarded with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. She wasn't victorious at keeping her Tennis Channel promise though.
Sabalenka promised apparently that she wasn't going to curse on air and swear during her live interview with Prakash Amritraj. But she was left red faced after doing so mid interview. It didn't take the Belarusian long to swear.
Amritraj burst out laughing as Sabalenka sat there embarrassed with her head in her hands at not achieving her goal. "She promised no f-bombs, no cursing, nothing," he said. To which she simply responded: "It's just something in my blood I guess."
Next up for Sabalenka will be the winner of Danielle Collins and Victoria Azarenka and if she plays as she swears live on the air, she will be on to a winner.
