Ajla Tomljanovic defeated Jelena Ostapenko in the 3rd round of Wimbledon and they clashed verbally several times in the match.
It has been a proper battle between Tomljanovic and Ostapenko at Wimbledon today with the players clashing several times verbally during the match. It all started Ostapenko called for a medical timeout after trailing 0-4 in the deciding set. Ostapenko was up a set and a break before Tomljanovic turned around the match.
The Australian player was furious when Jelena called for the trainer arguing with the ref:
'"You know she's lying, right? We all know. ... Are you taking into consideration that she looked fine for an hour & 20 & now there's an "acute injury"?"
Ostapenko fired back saying:
'She cannot tell you what to do.'
In the end Tomljanovic won the match but the pair exchanged several heated words after the match which you can see below. Ostapenko said in the post match press conference:
"In my opinion it was very disrespectful from her side...if I had played at least 50 percent, I would have beaten her."
