Simona Halep took a different approach than usual arriving in Linz by train ahead of the Upper Austria Ladies' tennis event.
Tennis players must travel a lot because work with events being held every week is not only a different city but rather a different country. Often times those trips include cross-continent flights as well but for Simona Halep this proved a rare opportunity to use a different transportation method. Halep arrived in Linz by train.
She probably did not travel all the way from Romania to Linz by train but rather from Vienna to Linz. Upon arrival, she was welcomed by the events staff and she briefly gave an interview. She said:
"I decided to take the train because it's a nice experience. Always when I have the chance I take it."
Speaking on the event itself she said:
"Last time in Linz was in 2012 so many years ago. But yeah it's a great tournament, the court is beautiful and I love the conditions. The people are nice. I just wanted to play some matches and that's why I'm here.
