After putting on a spectacular performance at the season-ending WTA Finals in Riyadh last week,
Taylor Townsend still has some unfinished business as the American heads to Malaga to represent her country at the
Billie Jean King Cup.
The Chicago native teamed with Czech doubles specialist Katerina Siniakova in the doubles event at Riyadh, with the duo stunning the crowd due to their impressive shot-making and chemistry on the court. The eight seeds reached the final of the elite event, but fell to the second seeded team of Erin Routliffe and Gabriela Dabrowski in an entertaining final.
Townsend to hoist the US flag in Malaga
With only a few days to recuperate, Townsend made the trip to Malaga, Spain to represent the United States at the international Billie Jean King Cup tournament. Team USA will be taking on Slovakia, with Townsend leading her countrywomen in the doubles event.
However, there appears to be some inclement weather in Malaga, as severe rains have hindered proceedings. Townsend took to social media to share the consequences of the rain, as she captured footage of water leaking into her room during a storm.
"Holy sh*t, so we're here in Malaga for BJK," began Townsend as she filmed some water seeping underneath the door into her room while a storm raged outside. "The water is coming through the room! The city centre is flooding, but like...our room is flooding!"
