Serena Williams will not play at the 2021
US Open due to a lower leg injury that was not able to heal in time for the event.
The 6x US Open champion will not get a chance to compete for her 7th US Open this year as a lower leg injury forced her to withdraw from the event. The injury occurred at Wimbledon where Serena slipped early in her match against Sasnovich hurting her hamstring.
Unfortunately for her, it did not heal properly with an MRI showing a tear still present in the muscle days ahead of the Grand Slam. As we miss Serena from the US Open it's time to rewatch some of her greatest US Open moments. In a YouTube playlist posted by the US Open Twitter page, we can see many great memories.
From championship-winning moments to trophy lifts, to spectacular points and rallies the playlist has it all. Check it out.
