American tennis star Venus Williams was all smiles following her first round win at the 2023 Cincinnati Open, and let some of her special brand of humor shine during the post-match interview.
The former World No.1 defeated World No.16 Veronika Kudermetova to advance to the second round. However, the victory was Williams' first Top 20 win in 4 years, an impressive feat by the 43-year old.
Williams jokingly considers retirement if the location is right
“You could be on a yacht anywhere you want in the world right now," said the interviewer after her win. "Where does the determination come from?”
“Where’s the yacht gonna be?.. stop tempting me,” replied Williams.
The seven-time Grand Slam champion will next face China's Qinwen Zheng in the round of 32.
