Linda Nosková and Karolína Muchová shared their first reunion since the Wimbledon final during a special ceremony at Prague Castle, where the two Czech stars were honoured by President Petr Pavel after their historic run at the All England Club. Twelve days after facing each other for the biggest title of their careers, both players made clear that their relationship remained unchanged despite the intensity of their Grand Slam battle.
The Wimbledon champion and runner-up brought their trophies to the presidential residence, joining former doubles Grand Slam winners Lucie Šafářová and Barbora Strýcová at the ceremony. Pavel praised the Czech players for their achievements and the way they represented the country, highlighting not only their results but also their sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
The meeting marked the first time Nosková and Muchová had reunited since the Wimbledon final, where Nosková defeated her compatriot to claim her maiden Grand Slam title. Despite competing against each other on one of tennis’ biggest stages, both players insisted their friendship had not been affected, as reported by Tenisportal.cz.
“Nothing changes, of course. Kája is a great girl,” Nosková said when asked about their relationship after Wimbledon. Muchová also smiled while describing their first meeting after the final, joking: “We somehow survived it.”

Karolína Muchová targets US Open return after Wimbledon run

Muchová’s Wimbledon campaign was followed by another physical challenge, as the Czech star underwent a planned medical procedure shortly after reaching the final at the All England Club. The 28-year-old is now facing several weeks of rehabilitation, but remains hopeful of making her return during the upcoming hard-court swing.

Karolina Muchova lost her second Grand Slam final: Roland Garros 2023 (defeated by Iga Swiatek) and Wimbledon 2026 (defeated by Linda Noskova).
The former world No. 8 confirmed that her main objective is recovering in time for the final Grand Slam of the season, after another impressive run at a major tournament. Despite the setback, Muchová is aiming to be available for Flushing Meadows as she looks to build on the momentum from her Wimbledon performance.
"The surgery I had was part of my plans. Everything went well," Muchová said. "Now I just need to recover, and I won't play for three or four weeks. But I should be ready for the US Open"

Linda Nosková adjusts to life as a Grand Slam champion

While Muchová focuses on returning to competition, Nosková is facing a completely different challenge: adapting to life after becoming a Grand Slam champion.
The 21-year-old admitted that the celebrations and attention following her Wimbledon triumph were more demanding than she expected, with the constant commitments requiring significant physical and mental energy.
“It was very difficult. I’m not used to this,” Nosková said. “It took a lot of energy from me. It was definitely harder than on the court, but I’m happy that everything is behind me and I think it was beautiful.”

The Czech star also revealed that her Wimbledon trophy has barely left her side since the victory. “I feel like I still haven’t put it away. Wherever I go, the plate almost goes with me,” she told reporters.
Nosková’s Wimbledon victory added another major chapter to Czech tennis’ recent success, and after sharing the biggest moment of her career with Muchová, she now enters a new stage as one of the sport’s rising stars.
