WTA legend Serena Williams had fans speculating about a possible return following a cryptic post made by the American on social media.

Williams shared a photo to her Instagram account, in which she was staring through a window at a tennis court.

"A moment of reflection," wrote the former World No.1.

Several fans were quick to play the guessing game, with a few wondering if the 23-time Grand Slam champion was contemplating a return to the courts.

"We wouldn’t be mad if you pulled a Tom Brady," wrote one fan.

"Good morning Queen, #TheGoat, I know you have these moments, as you should, and they maybe bitter sweet at times. However, know your legacy will last a lifetime, many times over. Thank you for just being you. Everything we needed at the time," wrote another.
