Williams and Pegula to meet in the 2020 ASB Classic final

In the first match of the semifinals in Auckland Jessica Pegula faced no. 5 at the tournament, Caroline Wozniacki. The Danish player was having a great tournament so far and she was confirming it also against Pegula when she has won the first set 6-3.

However, since the scoreboard was showing 4-4 in the second set, Wozniacki did not win a single game. Pegula was showing stunning tennis as she defeated the Danish player 3-6, 6-4, 6-0 to reach the first final of 2020 Season. In the WTA Ranking, Pegula moved already to 64th place and she can reach no. 56 if she wins the final.

But that won't be easy as she will be facing 23-time Grand Slam champion, Serena Williams. Williams is almost flawless in New Zealand so far and she confirmed that in the semifinals. Former world number one defeated Amanda Anisimova 6-1, 6-1 in just 44 minutes!
