Madison Keys and Karolina Pliskova secured their final spots at the 2020 Brisbane International after breathtaking semifinals.
The fifth-seeded Petra Kvitova and no. 8 in Brisbane,
Madison Keys kicked-off the semifinals in Australia. The Czech player entered the semifinal match better when Kvitova has won the first set 6-3 and led 2-0 in the second.
However, Keys managed to win 7 games in a row to win the second set 6-2 and gain 1-0 lead in the third. She then went on and won also the third set 6-3 to book the place in the final.
In the second match in Brisbane, there was a lot to watch as spectators received almost 3 hours of quality tennis. Naomi Osaka has won the first set in a tie-break 12-10 after converting the fifth set point.
In the second set, it was Pliskova who hold her nerves, turned away the matchpoint in the 12th game and converted the first setpoint in the tie-break to win it 7-3. The last set was more-less dominated by the Czech player when she grabbed a 6-2 victory and the place in the final.
