The withdrawals keep coming in the Women's draw at the US Open with Hsieh Su-wei, the World No.56 joining Belinda Bencic who announced hers on Sunday night.

As well as being in the singles field, this also impacts the Doubles field; with Hsieh, the current World No.1 in women's doubles albeit having never added the US Open title to her resume.

This though wasn't for the same reason as others with injury paying heed to her hopes of competing at Flushing Meadows.

She hopes though to be fit enough to compete at the French Open which begins on September 20 but for now, the current total of withdrawals sits at 20 from the singles draw.

"During COVID-19, my injury recovery is going better with new treatment but not yet 100% to be ready for US Open, Me and my team sadly to decide that I will not play the US Open this summer to have more time to get ready for the clay court tournament (Roland Garros)," she wrote on Facebook.
