World No.1 Iga Swiatek has been announced as the newest brand ambassador for Lancôme Cosmetics, a luxury makeup brand. The feat saw Swiatek set new records, making it a historic first for both a Polish woman and a female athlete.
Swiatek took to social media to make the official announcement. The reigning Roland Garros champion is currently competing at the Stuttgart Open, where she is the two-time defending champion. The Pole's sponsorship portfolio continues to grow, as she made an estimated $23.9 million last year. The 22-year old was named the world's highest-earning female athlete in 2023. She currently has other brand deals with companies like Visa, Porsche, On apparel, Rolex, LEGO, and Poland's biggest insurance company PZU.
In a post on Instagram, Swiatek revealed her first experience with the beauty brand was she she was given an Idôle perfume by Lancôme as a gift in her teens. With both parties now working together, she also hopes to celebrate her feminine side. Being a tennis player and wearing mostly athletic clothes doesn't give her the opportunity to do so, said the World No.1.
"I liked it a lot and since then I have had some good feelings about the brand," she wrote on Instagram. "I haven’t even thought that I will be announcing my cooperation with a beauty brand like this a couple of years later ... and that I will become the first Polish ambassador of the brand and first athlete among ambassadors like Zendaya or Julia Roberts. This is huge for me."
