The WTA has come out with 2023 calendar through to the 2023 US Open although it's only a provisional one and can change.
The 2023 season will be a special one for the WTA because it will be the 50th season the organization has existed. The new season will begin with the United Cup, a new combined event that won't be the only event added to the calendar.
Changes to the calendar next season include new events in Austin, Texas and a 250 event in Merida, Mexico with both taking place in February. We will have 10 WTA 500 events and 24 WTA 250 events with the 125 calendar also expanded.
The WTA 1000 events will remain the same as last year. WTA Chief Steve Simon said:
“As the WTA celebrates its 50th anniversary, the 2023 calendar showcases the incredible breadth and reach of women’s tennis. We are excited and proud to showcase our amazing events to our global audience of over 900 million fans, with tournaments in six continents and over 20 countries from January to early September.”
