WTA Finals Day 5 Preview: Muguruza, Pliskova or Krejcikova in the semifinals

Three players are fighting for a final spot in the WTA Finals semifinals and it's either going to be Muguruza, Pliskova, or Krejcikova.

The fifth day at the WTA Finals will bring the name of the final semifinalist from this group of players. The only player who is safe is Anett Kontaveit who already won her first two matches automatically qualifying for the semifinals. The rest (Muguruza, Krejcikova, Pliskova) all have chances in different circumstances and all will be decided directly by the results of the day.

The first match starts at 21:00 CET and it's Pliskova against Krejcikova. Both played okay so far with Pliskova a bit better overall. The Czech player will have a huge chance to secure a spot in the semifinals but she will need to win the match. Technically all three players need to win the match in order to qualify with Muguruza having the highest chance overall.

She also has the toughest opponent having to face Anett Kontaveit who is on a 10+ match winning streak. There are many different combinations that could happen with a possibility that the players end up having the same number of victories and sets won and lost which would mean that the won with the highest winning percentage of games moves on.

To keep it simple Pliskova moves on if she win and Muguruza loses. Many predict that outcome but a lot will come down to what Muguruza does in the 2nd match. If she wins she can go through but if she loses she is out. Stay tuned for a crazy good WTA day in tennis and don't stray far cause we will have reports for you.
