WTA Ranking Update: Andreescu moves into the TOP 5, Barty is a new leader

Since the US Open guarantees up to 2000 points for the winner, we have seen great changes in the ranking again.

After Naomi Osaka did not defend her title from last year, she dropped to the 4th place of the WTA Rankings.

Ashleigh Barty became the new world leader, even though she did not succeed at the US Open in singles but also did not defend many points. Instead of succeeding in singles, Barty managed to get to the doubles final with Azarenka.

One of the most significant shifts was made by the winner from Flushing Meadows Andreescu, who moved up by 10 places.

But the biggest shifts in the rankings were recorded by US players. Taylor Townsend, who showed great performances in New York, moved up by 33 positions to 83rd.

She was followed by Kristie Ahn, 93rd, who even moved up by 48 places. Young American talents Catherine McNally and Coco Gauff are ranked 105th and 106th after moving by 16 and 34 positions.
