WTA Ranking Update as Iga Swiatek begins 105th week as World Number One, Danielle Collins and Madison Keys rise

Albeit with the French Open starting, it is still a new week which means WTA Ranking Update with those who made strides during Strasbourg and Rabat now benefitting with ranking moves including Danielle Collins and Madison Keys. Iga Swiatek though continues to reign at the top.

Swiatek will play her opener at the French Open on Monday and began her 105th week as World No.1 with 11,695 points. This a lead of 3,357 points in comparison to Aryna Sabalenka. The only change in the top 10 though saw Danielle Collins return after reaching the final of Strasbourg.

The 30-year-old was ranked 71st earlier in the season before announcing that she was set to curtail her career. But has since gone on a winning spree winning Miami and Charleston back-to-back. She has only been beaten by the best recently too in Aryna Sabalenka twice and now Keys who has reached the Quarter-Finals or better during her last three tournaments.

Speaking of Keys, she is up to World No.12. Her best ranking since December 2023. It is an American theme with Peyton Stearns rising to World No.62 and up 19 spots after winning Rabat. Liudmila Samsonova (+10), Anhelina Kalinina (+8) are among the main movers up to World No.17 and World No.48 respectively. Mayar Sherif in reaching the final in Rabat also heads towards the top 50 and is up to 53rd.

With ranking points now falling off and a lot of players heading into trouble, it is an intriguing time in the WTA Ranking and is perhaps the last week in a long time where it is very minimal changes. Wimbledon and US Open will see a lot of big names also drop so strap in for the ride.
