WTA Rankings Update: Aryna Sabalenka survives as World No.1 as Karolina Muchova, Linda Noskova and Alexandra Eala reach new heights

Aryna Sabalenka leaves court after defeat.
With the demise at Wimbledon of both Iga Swiatek and also her nearest challenger in Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka looks all set to head towards 100 weeks on top of the WTA Rankings as the latest movers and shakers are set after Wimbledon.
Sabalenka was once again under pressure from the Kazakh star at the grass-court major, but Rybakina did similar to Alexander Zverev two years ago on the men's side and even Carlos Alcaraz before him and play extra to chase it.
But all that happened was is that Rybakina ended up not being able to ascend to top spot due to too many early losses in tournament as the pressure tolled.
Sabalenka lost in the fourth round at SW19, but her rival in Rybakina losing in the third round meant she was assured to remain top after Wimbledon with the lead reduced to 407 points. But it is still a lead that is there.
Sabalenka starts her 91st consecutive week as World No.1 on Monday to take her overall tally to 99. She moves one ahead of Lindsay Davenport to claim the outright 10th spot all-time with Justine Henin her next target on 117.

Muchova still top Czech player despite losing to Noskova

Rybakina also has a healthy lead over Jessica Pegula, while Coco Gauff is also back in the top five. She reached the semi-finals at SW19. Muchova also rose, as despite losing out in another Grand Slam final, it is what has propped her up often. Mainly semi-finals at the US Open, in fact, so for once she will have less pressure going into Flushing Meadows.
A lot of the time as of late due to injuries, Muchova has flirted with danger but also not as the US Open has been her stomping ground and she hasn't defended anything in other parts of the year. So this will be all gain and she is up to World No.6 two above her previous best after starting the tournament just outside of the top 10.
Ironically despite beating Muchova, Linda Noskova, the new Wimbledon champion is not the top Czech player in the rankings as she sits just behind Muchova in seventh after jumping five spots. 2025 Wimbledon winner Iga Swiatek, though, was the big loser in all of this.

She slipped five spots to World No.8 after her third-round defeat; the same can be said for Amanda Anisimova, who now returns to a part of the season which in theory should be her favourite in the US Open. But she also defends a final from that event, too, so in reality, she stares down the barrel of a further ranking drop.
Victoria Mboko and Belinda Bencic are the players also to drop out of the top 10. The former due to injury and given she is likely to be out for the rest of the season further drop is expected.
Alexandra Eala also enjoyed a brilliant rise. She went onto the Last 16 and has risen four spots to World No.28. While former champion Barbora Krejcikova is up six to World No.32 after he run to the fourth round.
Paula Badosa also sits up at World No.115 albeit this after winning in Bastad on the WTA 125k circuit and not due to Wimbledon. Tyra Grant also rose 31 spots after her run to World No.141.
