WTA Rankings Update: Emma Raducanu and Leylah Fernandez fall as Paula Badosa continues climbing

More WTA action has gone on in the past week, but there is a sense that this is the quiet before the storm as the best players in the world gear up for another busy period in the WTA calendar. Nevertheless, there still has been changes in the WTA Rankings.

None of that has come in the top 20. Aryna Sabalenka ticks over the 100 week mark at the top of the order with Elena Rybakina possibly eyeing a chance to surpass the Belarusian in the coming weeks if she can find her feet on court.

Jessica Pegula, Mirra Andreeva, Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova remain in their respected career high rankings as the pressure starts to ramp up on Iga Swiatek and Amanda Anisimove who could be due a sharp ranking drop in the coming weeks.

The same could be said for the injured Victoria Mboko who will not participate in the upcoming Canadian Open, thus losing 1000 points in the coming weeks.

Despite not playing, Maja Chwalinska has risen into 21st. This is thanks to Maire Bouzkova falling a few spots. There were a lot of Czech players in action as the Prague Open was one of the most noticeable events being competed.

Barbora Krejcikova reached the semi-final but could not storm to success as her place in the top 32 is very secure thanks to great recent form. As she rises, reigning DC Open champion Leylah Fernandez is set for a crucial week with 500 points on the line. A nine-place drop has occurred which crucially has put her outside of the top 32.

Outside the top 40, the title winners make huge new breakthroughs. Daria Snigur lost in the Prague Open final, but an 11-place rise to 43rd is a representation of her brilliant recent form. The winner, 18-year-old Lilli Tagger, has now made a huge impression on the WTA Tour. Still so early in her tennis career, she has produced a brilliant showing to debut in the top 50 after gaining 29 spots.

She sat 45th, and right behind her in 46th is Tamara Korpatsch. Her second final in 2026, third in total, ended with her second WTA title after taking down Anna Bondar to win the Hamburg Open. A triumphant win on home soil also sees her debut in the top 50.

Emma Raducanu continues to slide amid turbulent injury troubles. As players enter the top 50, she is on the cusp of exiting it in a bitter blow following a positive spell to get back into it. Moving the other way, another quarter-final for Paula Badosa edges her further up the rankings. Another nine places gained leaves her in 84th and firmly in the top 100.
