This past week 2 WTA tournaments were played with Svitolina and Kenin capturing the titles and subsequently moving up in the rankings.
Sofia Kenin won her 2nd title of 2020 after her victory in Lyon which made it possible for her to move up to number 4 in the rankings. It was a very good week by Kenin in terms of results although her play looked shaky at times. Speaking after the match
she reflected on her decision to come to Lyon describing it as a good choice which it proved to be.
The other big mover in the top 10 is
Elina Svitolina who played herself into form in Monterrey. She hasn't had the greatest of Februarys but she was magnificent in Monterrey.
Winning her 1st title in over a year helped her reach the 5th place in the rankings.
The biggest loser in the rankings was
Bianca Andreescu who still is dealing with injuries. She recently
had to pull out from the Indian Wells tournament as well. Just recently it was announced that the tournament
won't go ahead amidst Coronavirus threat. She is currently ranked 6th on the
WTA rankings after being
4th last week.
The biggest mover in the top 100 was
Marie Bouzkova who almost won in Monterrey but her run earned her a 1o place jump in the rankings making her the 47th best female tennis player in the world.
