Naomi Osaka won her 3rd grand slam title and her 2nd US Open title which allowed her to jump six spots on the rankings to become the world number 3.

The US Open is behind us and following her victory, Naomi Osaka jumped six spots on the WTA rankings to become world number 3. The person she defeated in the final, Victoria Azarenka jumped 13 spots to become to world number 14. That's 44 places in total since the restart of the season where she played excellently. A stellar run for Jennifer Brady advanced her up by 16 places to become the world number 25. That's a new career-high for her coming after he career-best performance at a grand slam.
Two players are the absolute winners of the US Open as they both had good runs but also advanced the most in the rankings. Patricia Maria Tig is one of them as she jumped up by 30 spots to become world number 58. An even more impressive jump was that of Shelby Rogers who is world number 55 after jumping up by 38 spots.
The situation on top remained the same as Barty and Halep are still numbers 1 and two. It might change soon after Barty announced she won't be defending her title at the French Open so we might see a new number one very soon.
