Dominic Thiem

Dominic Thiem won the US Open but even so nothing changed in the top 10 of the world with Novak Djokovic retaining the nr. 1 spot.

A crazy US Open is behind us where we crowned a new champion Dominic Thiem. Usually, such things mean a lot of turmoil in the top 10 of the world but curiously there hasn't been any changes with all player's staying put. Novak Djokovic is still officially the best player in the world with Rafael Nadal closely behind and also Dominic Thiem who was never closer to being number one. Pablo Carreno-Busta who found himself surprisingly in the semifinal jumped 9 spots and currently sits at 18.
As far the rest is concerned there were some shifts in the top 100 in accordance with the player's performance at the grand slam. Francis Tiafoe and Vasek Pospisil are amongst the player who jumped the most as the American jumped 16 spots and the Canadian 21 spots. The jumping champion is Alejandro Davidovich Fokina who had a great run at the US Open allowing him to jump 29 spots. He now sits at 70 in the world which is his career-best ranking.
