Yeah she is such a nice person 🙄
There was enough drama in the Danielle Collins and Victoria Azarenka match to last a lifetime, but the fire was also added to by Vika's former hitting partner, Sascha Bajin who responded to a video of the former World No.1 hitting out at her coach.
Azarenka who was dumped out 6-4, 6-3 by the superb Collins who continues her superb form to set up a clash with Aryna Sabalenka later today started strong in the tie, but it was short lived. She went 2-0 up and hit three double faults in a row as Collins broke serve easily.
Collins then took control hitting 24 winners en route to victory, but this also frustrated Azarenka who got caught up in the drama. The American as ever is an entertaining watch and took on the cameraman and also members of the crowd during the tie. Azarenka on the otherhand snapped back at encouragement from coach Maxime Tchoutakian.
He shouted come on at Azarenka from the stands. She stopped in her tracks and shouted back. "What do you want me to come on? What do you want me to come on?"
Sascha Bajin who previously worked with Azarenka for three years chimed back amid the incident with his own dig. "Yeah she is such a nice person 🙄," he commented. They won three titles as a partnership with Bajin famously switching from Serena Williams to work with her rival at the time. It is an interesting U-turn too with Bajin previously speaking in glowing terms about Azarenka.
He described her on and off court persona as like flicking a switch. “I think you should be able to switch that competitiveness off – that you are aggressive on court and then very relaxed off court,” said Bajin. “I mean you can’t run around 24/7 like a lunatic, you know, amped up and just yelling, 'Come on, come on' at people. You’re going to end up in jail, I think, at some point."
“I never knew before what kind of a family person she was, that she’s actually warmhearted, kind, has a great family,” he also said in glowing terms. “She’s very kind. She knows I love Nutella so she would bring me like a jar of Nutella every once in a while. She’s very thoughtful you know, little things that she does to just put a smile on my face and make me happy.” This made fans search for the so called 'tea' between the pair with no prior issues.
She won three out of her 21 career titles with his involvement. Azarenka won at the 2016 Brisbane International claiming a 6-3, 6-1 win over Angelique Kerber to end a nearly three year title drought. She then won at Indian Wells and defeated Serena Williams to do so in a full circle moment. Azarenka then completed the Sunshine Double defeating Svetlana Kuznetsova 6-3, 6-2 in the final.
Bajin has worked with many top players including Caroline Wozniacki and Naomi Osaka, but his latest coaching gig didn't go too well with Alycia Parks undergoing an extreme slump of not winning since the Australian Open. He couldn't make the changes stick seemingly as they have already split.
Yeah she is such a nice person 🙄
