America’s tennis star
Sloane Stephens has expressed
affection for
Madison Keys in a post. The 30-year-old expressed those feelings
in a post that appeared on the social media.
“We've been by each other’s sides, even when we're across
the net from each other during some of the biggest days of our lives, and
through it all, our friendship has remained constant,” she said.
“I hope our friendship shows young girls and women in sport
that you don't have to claw your way to the top. You can be a good friend,
demonstrate kindness, and be fair while still giving it your all during a
match.”
The 30-year-old recently took part in the Australian Open
where she did not have a great outing. The Florida-born was knocked out after
losing in the third round of the first Grand Slam of the year to Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya
with a score of 6-7, 6-1, 6-4.
On the other hand, Keys did not take part in the Australian
Open because of a shoulder injury. She informed that in a post on social media
platform X — previously known as Twitter.
“Hi everyone. Unfortunately I’ve been struggling with a
shoulder injury & have been advised by my medical staff to withdraw from
the @AustralianOpen this year. This obviously isn’t the best news to start the
tennis season, but I also know I’m making the right choice for my body,” she
wrote.
