Two months after hinting at it in Brisbane, Aryna Sabalenka is engaged with her partner Georgios Frangulis after the Brazilian entrepreneur bent down and asked the question, with Sabalenka saying yes.
The world number one will have tennis on her mind in the coming weeks with Indian Wells set to get underway but off court it is all celebrations with her set to tie the knot with Frangulis.
Under the night sky surrounded by candles and flowers, Frangulis seized his opportunity, to the complete surprise of Sabalenka who could not believe what she was seeing. She took as step back with her hands on her face before embracing with her now fiancé in delight and awe.
"You & me, forever," the Belarusian captioned the Instagram post with the date 3/3/2026 also written beside it, showing off how recent it was. On her Instagram story, she flexed the ring. "Well I obviously had no idea this was happening tonight," she wrote, confirming her surprise at the glorious situation.
This turned out to be a very popular post with loads of tennis players coming out and sharing their support and love. Good friend Novak Djokovic sent three heart emoji's with his wife, Jelena, with the four of them all getting along very well having pictured together going on a double date in the off-season.
"Omgggg congrats guyssss," world number six Amanda Anisimova wrote, with seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz also joining in. "Congratulatiooooons," was the Spaniards response with Paula Badosa and Shelby Rogers among the standouts in the list of fans, tennis players and celebrities writing cheerful messages.
The duo went public about their relationship back in 2024 after Sabalenka was knocked out of the Rome Open. She was photographed next to Frangulis with their relationship blossoming since. Many times on court after matches Sabalenka has indicated her true feelings, hinting her intentions on numerous occasions.
The most recent came at the Brisbane International where Sabalenka started the year in style as she defended her title. After winning the final, she said: "Thank you, guys, I love you. And thank you to my boyfriend. Hopefully soon I'll call you somehow else, right?" As the crowd laughed, she added: "I just put on extra pressure, right?" This was met with humour from Frangulis in the stands.

After this wonderful moment was shared between the pair, Sabalenka must focus back on the task at hand on the court with her set to compete in her first WTA 1000 tournament of the year, looking to defend the points collected last year after she lost to Mirra Andreeva in the final. Alycia Parks or Himeno Sakatsume will be her opponent in the second round as she looks to clinch the title for the first time on her return to tennis after losing in the Australian Open final.
