Fans on the social media lambasted the recent post of Naomi
Osaka. The former world number one recently featured in the WTA 125 event where
she lifted the title after beating Kaja Juvan in the final in straight sets
with a score of 6-1, 7-5. The victory was an important one for Osaka as it was
her first title this year.
It was also only the second occasion this season where the four-time
Grand Slam winner managed to cement her spot in the final of a competition. The only other time she did this year was at the ASB Classic in January, where she was forced to retire after the first set against Denmark’s Clara
Tauson.
Interestingly, Osaka, just few hours before the final, posted
a sarcastic post on her social media account Twitter with a caption: “This is
for everyone that constantly has shit to say lol.” The post did not go down well
with the social media users, who decided to showcase their anger in their response.
“Maybe you should try getting serious about your tennis
again. A lot support you and what do you do? You go on the court like you don’t
care losing to players not good enough to carry your rackets. Get it together
or go do something else. You’re not being fair!,” wrote one user. “For your own mental health, delete all
your social media accounts. This isn’t good for you. Posting this petty
nonsense at 1AM before a final.. come on. Delete it all and you’ll get rid of
all the noise,” another one wrote in response.
“Mind you, you’ve
never filled out one of these in your life……..watch your multimillionaire a**
tone,” one more fan responded. “A 125k finals and she's already telling us to
get jobs, girl let's take it easy lmao😭,” another fan replied. “girl nobody even said shit about you.
everybody was busy watching the madrid final 😭,” was the response of
another fan.
