2019 US Open Men's Day 5 Results: Djokovic and Federer dominate in the 3rd round

Friday at the US Open brought matches of Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic and Daniil Medvedev, who advanced to the last 16.

The day began with a surprise when Alex de Minaur managed to beat Kei Nishikori and will appear in the fourth round of the Grand Slam for the first time. Roger Federer finally managed to dominate in the match with Dan Evans, losing only 5 games in three sets.

The three-set Wawrinka's and Goffin's victories brought up four tie-breaks, leaving Lorenzi and Carreno-Busta in front of the fourth-round gates after failing in the tie-breaks.

Qualifier Koepfer continues at the US Open when he has reached his lifetime maximum on the Grand Slam by making his way to the fourth round. Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic played the last 2 night sessions at Arthur Ashe Stadium and Louis Armstrong Stadium.

Djokovic managed to win his match again in three sets, after shoulder problems in the last match. Danil Medvedev's match with Feliciano Lopez did not go without controversy, when spectators were "booing" the Russian in the Flushing Meadows and during his speech after the match, he addressed them few ironic words.
