Medvedev against Wawrinka begins play with the Russian ace firmly in form going into the tie and his confidence has shown that based on his post match interviews which have been in many ways some of the highlights of the past few weeks.
Wawrinka on the other hand saw off Novak Djokovic who had to retire due to injury having been 6-4, 7-5, 2-1 up on him and as the former champion approaches some of his best tennis again, who could bet against him claiming another big win.
Then it is the turn of Roger Federer and Grigor Dimitrov. Dimitrov has never beaten Federer in a hard court tie. He has played well before against him with the Bulgarian taking a set off him at the 2016 Australian Open.
This is only one of two time he has done so, with him 11-2 in sets. The odds are stacked firmly against him. Despite that though, he will take solace in knowing that he wouldn't have expected to be in this position due to injuries blighting his form.
He has Radek Stepanek and Andre Agassi in his corner though, as he aims to make a third Grand Slam semi-final and show that he is firmly back at the top.
