The 2020 Olympic Games will conclude with the men's final on Sunday as Alexander Zverev takes on Karen Khachanov.
Alexander Zverev played a very good Olympics from start to finish somewhat quietly reaching the medal round. In the medal round, he faced the mammoth challenge of beating a seemingly unbeatable Novak Djokovic. After losing the opening set 1-6 he came back to win 6-3 6-2.
Karen Khachanov also played a quiet Olympics event but the Russian had a more favourable draw than Zverev. In the semifinal, he faced Pablo Carreno Busta and overcame with ease. The Russian picked up some form in Wimbledon after playing a lacklustre 2021 season.
Neither of them has ever played at the Olympics so it will be a new experience for them. Zverev is the better player overall and should be the heavy favourite ahead of the match. Khachanov is capable of big results when things go his way like when he won the Masters in Paris.
Zverev has won bigger matches and usually deals with the pressure well. However, he has failed in the biggest match of his career (2019 US Open) after leading 2-0 in sets. The match will be played at 09:30 CET.
