2021 Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic Draw including Mertens, Rybakina and Keys

The draw has been released ahead of the Mubadala Silicon Valley Classic which is set to take place between August 2-8 2021 as part of the US Open Series.
Elise Mertens is the top seed after the withdrawal of Sofia Kenin and she could face Kristina Mladenovic in the second round.
Second seed is Elena Rybakina fresh off her Olympic Games run and for the Kazakh, it will be Dayana Yastremska or Claire Liu up first.
It is an all American section above Rybakina as Danielle Collins faces Shelby Rogers and Alison Riske takes on Sloane Stephens.
Madison Keys could set up a tie with Wimbledon success story Emma Raducanu.
While Donna Vekic facing Yulia Putintseva and Ajla Tomljanovic vs. Amanda Anisimova are other top ties.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
