2021 BMW Open Munich Entry List with Zverev, Ruud, Karatsev

The International Tennis Championships of Bavaria started way back in 1900 in Munich, with the Bavarian capital staying on the tennis map ever since and forging an admirable legacy.

The event moved to the Iphitos Tennis Club in 1974 and became a regular stop in the ATP calendar. Guillermo Vilas, Manuel Orantes, Ivan Lendl, Michael Stich, Roger Federer, Nikolay Davydenko, Tommy Haas and Andy Murray are among the notable winners, with Alexander Zverev stealing the honor in 2017 and 2018 as the first back-to-back champion in almost 20 years.

The home favorite lost to Cristian Garin after a massive battle in the quarter-final two years ago, with the Chilean prevailing over Matteo Berrettini in the deciding set tie break to lift the trophy. After being canceled a year ago, the BMW Open returns next month and gathers five top-30 players between April 26 - May 2.

Alexander Zverev will lead the field at the home ATP 250 event, seeking the third title and facing Casper Ruud, Dusan Lajovic, Aslan Karatsev and Jannik Sinner en route to the title. Overall, there are 11 top-40 players, and we should get some exciting matches right from the opening round.
