2021 US Open Day 10 ATP & WTA Schedule of Play with Djokovic, Bencic, Raducanu, Zverev
The final 4 quarterfinal matches in both draws will be played today. Play, as yesterday, will start a bit later than usual with Belinda Bencic and Emma Raducanu gettings us underway at 18:00 CET. What more can be possibly said about the fairytale run of Emma Raducanu who has a chance to reach the semifinal. The opponent Bencic is a formidable one yet nobody dominated so far as much as Raducanu did. Can she do it again remains to be seen?
After that, we will see Alexander Zverev take on Lloyd Harris. They played recently in Cincinnati with Harris taking the opening set before Zverev came back to win. It's a simple match that will be determined by how well Lloyd Harris serves. He failed to keep up his majestic serving throughout the match in Cincinnati and he will need to do that if he hopes to win the match.
The night session will feature two matches with the first starting at 01:00 CET. Karolina Pliskova will face Maria Sakkari and both of them will fancy their chances in this one. Both serve well and that might prove a huge factor especially if some other facets of their games are not on the highest of levels. Pliskvoa should have the edge experience-wise which might also prove key.
The final match of the day will feature world number one Novak Djokovic and Matteo Berrettini. They have played some smashing matches this season especially the two played on the previous two grand slams. At French, Open Berrettini was very close to sending the match into a decider set but Djokovic escaped. At Wimbledon, the Serbian outplayed Matteo in the final and he will look to do the same here. Berrettini has not looked particularly impressive so far and that will need to change if he hopes to win.
