The Sofia Open makes it's return to the ATP circuit this month, with the event being hosted in the city of Sofia, Bulgaria from September 26-October 2, 2022.
An ATP 250 event, the Sofia Open was first held in 2016. Hometown favorite Grigor Dimitrov lifted the trophy the following year, and the Bulgarian is set to return with the hopes of putting on a solid performance in front of his home crowd.
Two-time defending champion Jannik Sinner will be competing at the event, as the 21-year old hopes to complete the hat-trick and join a select group of athletes who have won at least three titles at the same event. Joining the Italian will be compatriots Lorenzo Musetti and veteran Fabio Fognini, alongside Poland's Hubert Hurkacz, who is the top seed at the event.
Several other exciting players will be present, including Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta, charismatic Frenchman Gael Monfils and rising star Jack Draper of Great Britain. Three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka was awarded a wildcard entry to the event, as the Swiss star struggles to regain his form at the twilight of his career.
The tournament will feature a 28-player singles field and a 16-team doubles draw. Below is the list of entrants.
