Novak Djokovic will take on Stefanos Tsitsipas in his 10th Australian Open final hoping to improve to 10-0 in finals and capture that elusive 10h one.
Novak Djokovic is a huge favourite to win the Australian Open simply due to the way he performed at the event in the past. Nobody has ever played better than Djokovic in Australia as he has a chance to win his 10th one this year. He played in nine finals so far and won all nine. He also holds the record for most consecutive wins at the event (27) and never lost a final or semi-final in Australia.
Tsitsipas on the other hand has always played well in Australia as well. The conditions work for him, and in his own words, remind him of Greece. A huge Greek community in Melbourne backs him in every match, so that helps. It's a match that promises to be good but will largely depend on Tsitsipas.
He's beaten Djokovic three times in the past but one of those wins was at an exhibition event and all of them were a while ago. Tsitsipas' last win came in 2020 as he took a 3-2 lead in the H2H with it. The score is 10-3 now showing how dominant Djokovic has been against him in the past. He'll need his absolute best to win the match.
He's played pretty close to it at this event so he should have it. If Djokovic plays his best, as he did so far, it's going to be very hard for the Greek. Apart from Wimbledon, this is the toughest place to play Djokovic. Tomorrow 09:30.
