The
draw for the 2023 edition of the Nordea Open has taken
place, featuring some of the big-name players.
The tournament will be played from July 17 to 23 in Bastad, Sweden
where notable players from the men’s singles category will take part.
World number four Norway’s
Casper Ruud will be the top-seeded player
in the competition and he will start the tournament in the round of 16 where
he will face the winner of the match between Juan Manuel Cerundolo and Alexander
Shevchenko.
Russia’s
Andrey Rublev, who will be coming fresh after
suffering a defeat in the quarterfinal of Wimbledon 2023 against current world
number two Novak Djokovic, will also start the competition from second.
His next round’s opponent will be the winner of tie between Italy’s
Marco Cecchinato and a player from the qualifiers.
Germany’s
Alexander Zverev will be the fifth seed in the
competition and his first round opponent will be Slovakia’s Alex Molcan.
Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti will also start the competition from
the second round where he will face the winner of the clash between Matteo
Arnaldi and Emil Ruusuvuori.
