The 2024
BMW Munich Open approaches it's conclusion this weekend, as contestants battle it out in the semifinals on Saturday. Defending champion
Holger Rune will be aiming to reach his second consecutive final, whereas American
Taylor Fritz hopes to build momentum during the clay season.
Fritz has been impressive during his run in Munich. The American has dropped just one set at the event, and is hoping to reach his first clay court final of the season. Standing in his way is
Christian Garin, who is currently playing some of his best tennis in recent years. The Chilean upset top seed
Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals, and could prove to be a tough opponent for Fritz.
Rune's opponent is yet to be determined
The Danish superstar breezed through his early rounds, and looks like a favorite to reach the final. Rune will face the winner of the clash between
Felix Auger-Aliassime and hometown hero
Jan-Lennard Struff, who's quarterfinal battle was suspended due to darkness. Regardless of the outcome, Rune is likely to have the advantage as the winner of the last quarterfinal match will only have a few hours to recuperate before again taking to the court.
