Carlos Alcaraz gears up for the Netflix Slam on Sunday evening,
Juan Carlos Ferrero sees another rival in his periphery who isn't Novak Djokovic or Jannik Sinner.
For Ferrero,
Alexander Zverev is also up there and after his win over Alcaraz at the Australian Open, it is easy to see why. He has also defeated him in five out of the last eight matches and has the tools to hurt Alcaraz as has been evidenced in the past. The coach believes that many of the top 10 stars have tools to hurt him, but that Zverev should also be taken into consideration alongside the leading names.
"Alcaraz has lost several times against Zverev, a rival to always take into consideration. But, in general, all the top 10 can make things difficult for him. All rivals deserve the utmost respect. It is clear that Djokovic and Sinner are the ones who express consistently their best level," said Ferrero in an interview with MARCA.
Ferrero also stated the importance of his management of break points. "Maybe he needs to make better decisions in those moments and learn to manage opportunities better. This is one of the objectives, but it is something he will learn. He is calm from this point of view. It is a temporary thing and we don't give too much importance to it," he told.
