A sneak peek into the possible thrillers of men's Olympic Games tennis quarterfinals

With the draw now complete for the men's Olympic Games tennis tournament in Paris, the attention will turn to where the seeded players are likely to end up with the Projected Quarter-Finals set.
Always an intriguing look whether these ties actually happen as they are done based off seeding and the Olympic Games perhaps more than any other tournament produces a lot of shocks and surprises. Under the cauldron of pressure like no other, the Olympic Games is a beast that for some is hard to conquer. Take Novak Djokovic who likely has his last chance to do so.
He could face Stefanos Tsitsipas in the Quarter-Finals in what is a pretty favourable draw. Albeit he has to get past potentially Rafael Nadal in a standout second round draw, so if Nadal can win roles would be reversed and his draw could be Tsitsipas.
A favourable draw as Tsitsipas has not been performing that well as of late. He was superb at Monte-Carlo and Barcelona but flattered to deceive recently including a loss to Matteo Berrettini in Gstaad where he called him a 'peasant' supposedly.
Also in what could be good news in Djokovic's gold medal hunt is his likely semi-final. Taylor Fritz could await who he has a 9-0 record against. Or it could be Alexander Zverev, the worser of the two outcomes but a player that was in doubt somewhat before the tournament due to a knee problem. But he managed to reach the final of Hamburg last week.
The other side of the draw sees Casper Ruud in one section. Albeit he lost to a quality operator in Thiago Monteiro in Bastad, he played a lot of doubles last week so has match practice on the clay. He faces Daniil Medvedev potentially with his self-styled hatred of the surface. So perhaps a good draw for the sixth seed.
Then it could be Alex de Minaur v Carlos Alcaraz. The latter is the favourite for the title but in facing the Aussie ace, it could be a tough tie and a real popcorn clash. Perhaps out of the four, Zverev v Fritz and De Minaur v Alcaraz stand out the most in terms of watchable game styles. Often though with these projected ties devised, it doesn't go to script but how well it does is also intriguing.

- Sabalenka began showing signs of her game gradually 'changing' since last season. I predicted her fascination with posting endless Selfies, participating in commercial media distractions and constant Social Media nonsense could impact her in a negative way. Her off-court Life was sure to interfere with her performace level. Visions of Raducanu, Giorgi, Bouchard come to mind. The Final yesterday was a weird case of polar-opposites. Sabalenka and Rybakina could not be any more different in personalities! Saba often portrays a somewhat fake persona, including her Phony Screaming. Her usual habit of acting like the nice girl with a sense of humor is a misconception. People take her lack of intellect as "cute" and "funny". So anyway... yesterday viewers witnessed that Fake Scream be reduced to a whimper and sometimes no vocal gymnastics at all once she knew the jig was up. We all saw her look into the camera post-match and say "F... You". Also, pretty hard to not see Saba making untoward facial expressions, rolling her eyes, etc., behind Rybakina while on the podium. Elena Rybakina, on the other hand, was her usual 'in-control' self as she spoke clearly and calmly, without making faces nor any ill-will toward anyone = 100% Class Act. Lena appeared more than aware of Saba's sour attitude and made a point of not looking in her direction most of the time. FWIW: I have never -- not ever -- heard Sabalenka make any sounds on practice courts. So it is indeed a nonsensical ruse as she thinks (incorrectly) it affects opponents. It does not. In fact, as was the case yesterday, I saw Lena occasionally take a side-eye glance at Saba on her way to the bench... as if to calculate her emotions. - WTA and ATP cannot even make their dope testing equal and precise across the board. They sure as hell cannot escape a stituation they themselves made over the ridiculous "penalty" of omitting a player's country flag. Nothing regarding which flags to display (or not) should be a Thing. It proves nothing; solves nothing. If anything, all it did was cause stress, tension, and even outbursts between players in the WTA locker room. Let's not even start with the asinine practice of not shaking hands at the net with "the enemy".
