The men's draw has been confirmed for the 2024 Paris
Olympic Games Tennis with a bombshell result as
Rafael Nadal again could end his rivalry with
Novak Djokovic on the clay courts of Roland Garros between Saturday July 27 - Saturday August 4.
Djokovic is top seed due to Jannik Sinner withdrawing and if he gets past late replacement Matt Ebden, he could face Rafael Nadal in another chapter of their storied rivalry. The Spaniard is set to face Marton Fucsovics in the opening round. If they get through that it could be Milos Raonic, Matteo Arnaldi or Arthur Fils potentially.
Second seed is
Carlos Alcaraz. He faces Lebanese player Hady Habib but could face Tallon Griekspoor or Cameron Norrie in the second round. Third seed is
Alexander Zverev who is the reigning gold medalist. He likely opens up against Jaume Munar followed by Zhizhen Zhang or Tomas Machac. Fourth seed is
Daniil Medvedev. He faces Rinky Hijikata.
Fifth seed is
Casper Ruud and he faces Taro Daniel. While other top names feature
Taylor Fritz facing Alexander Bublik with a potential Jack Draper or Kei Nishikori sized roadblock in the second round. Interestingly the draw separates the big names from each country so they cannot meet until the latter stages meaning for British and Americans in particular it has provided a real headache for the draw.
