Rising American star Ben Shelton has set the tennis world on notice due to his improved performance over the past few months, and he is hoping to keep the momentum going this week at the Miami Open.
Tennis analyst Tracey Austin believes the 20-year old is one of the most impressive players at his age, and spoke about how he could take his game to a higher level.
"He was playing challengers in the fall last year but now has gone all to the to the Australian Open quarterfinals, and has cracked into the Top 50," said Austin on her podcast. "I absolutely love his game.
"It's been fun t watch him through college, the Futures, the Challengers, and now to where he is in the thick of it."
Austin complemented Shelton's huge serve and forehand, stating that being a lefty gave him an advantage. Furthermore, she added his all-court game style would enable him to challenge players not just on the hardcourts that he's familiar with, but also on clay, where he will have to face players who are used to long, grinding rallies.
