The first match of the Adria Tour promised a lot of great action to fans in Belgrade. Grigor Dimitrov defeated Dusan Lajovic in three sets and didn't allow the Serbian to get a surprising result. We also saw sad events as Damir Dzumhur was forced to pull out of the match against Dominic Thiem.

Already in the third match of the tournament fans in Novak Tennis Center could see world number 1 play against Viktor Troicki. Djokovic confirmed the role of the favorite when he defeated his good friend in straight sets. Alexander Zverev overcame a slow start at the tournament to get a three-set victory over Filip Krajinovic.

The first alternate, Nikola Milojevic then showed his qualities against Grigor Dimitrov when he got his first victory at the Adria Tour. Dominic Thiem then added 2nd victory in his group to top it after the first day. The 7th match of the day showed the biggest surprise as Filip Krajinovic defeated Novak Djokovic in three sets. Alexander Zverev then finished the day with a comfortable victory over Viktor Troicki.
